Our Staff
Kayla Laine is the District Secretary and Manager. She is the one taking tree orders, and getting the trees out to customers. Along with this she machine plants trees, and lays fabric as well.
She grew up on a farm west of Selby. She is a 2013 graduate of Selby Area High School and attended college at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, South Dakota. There she majored in Biology and graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science degree. She started with the Walworth County Conservation District in December of 2021.
Kaitlyn Steinwart is the Outreach and Resource Development Coordinator for Walworth and Campbell Counties. She facilitates community activities, creates Facebook posts, helps machine plant trees, and lay fabric.

Kaitlyn grew up in Gering, NE. In 2015, she received a bachelor's degree in Rangeland & Wildlife Management from Chadron State College. Prior to moving to Selby with her fiancé in 2022, she worked as a groundskeeper, environmental compliance officer, and hydrologic technician. She started with Campbell and Walworth County Conservation Districts in November of 2023.
